Hydrant Opening

The LaFontaine Arts Council has announced that the theme of this year’s fire hydrant painting project will be “Comic Characters.”

Artists will choose well-known animated characters from comic books, television or movies. All of the hydrants to be painted are in and around the downtown Huntington area.

The purpose of this public art project is to enrich, entertain and educate. Additionally, it is intended to promote arts and culture, provide a showcase for local and area artists and increase pedestrian traffic in the downtown area.
Opening day of the project is scheduled for Sept. 9.
